Tragedy

Officials in Southern California said this past Saturday that their firefighters put the fire under control. Altough this beeing said,the fire burned out at least 76 homes and consumed 627 square kilometres of Angeles National Forest.

"We're making tremendous progress," incident commander Mike Dietrich said, "but we have not turned the corner on this fire. I keep seeing that it's out there, but we have not turned the corner yet."

Fire agencies have spent $43.5 million US dealing with the fire.
